  1. Save Me

I wrote music and lyrics for this.
Lyrics influenced by long daily commute in a car with an AM-only radio and hearing born-again stations, in a pop music tradition of blurring romantic and religious sentiment.
Music patterned after one of our favorite cover songs, 'Hang On Sloopy' by the McCoys.

On the album Bowlegged

Lyrics

VERSE 1:
I spent all of my money
I spent all of time
I spent all of it looking for laughter
Fortune slipped through my fingers
Fame has faded away
Now I know what I was after

So come on get up, you say it’s not too late
come on get up, I’ll make a leap of faith
come on get up, I think tonight’s the night
come on get up, come on get up

CHORUS:
Save me, come on and save me
You have the key in your hand, hear what I’m saying
Save me, come on and save me
Save me before it’s too late

VERSE 2:
All my dreams have been shattered
All my hope’s been betrayed
All that’s left is endless frustration
You have what I’ve waited for
You have what I need
You’re the one to bring me salvation

So come on get up, this is not the end
come on get up, the son will rise again
come on get up, I want to see the light
come on get up, come on get up

CHORUS:
Save me, come on and save me
You have the key in your hand, hear what I’m saying
Save me, come on and save me
Save me before it’s too late

CHORUS:
Save me, come on and save me
You have me down on my knees, hear me I’m praying
Save me, come on and save me
Save me before it’s too late
